Wow! I have been absolutely horrible at keeping up with this fashion blog, but once again I
promise to keep it updated this time. No, but seriously I
will keep it updated daily. School is finally over and I can now focus on the important things in life...
fashion, tanning, and having fun! With this seasons trends it's all about having fun with
color. Whether it's in your hair, bold accessories, pants, or tops bright and fun colors are everywhere this summer!
Top 3 colors to shop for during the
summer are
Orange,
Bright Turquoise, and
Coral. Followed by a pastel
Mint Green and
Neon Yellow. What is great with all of these colors is you can mix and match them with each other to rock an ultra bright and mod look! Color blocking has been big this past spring and is still a strong trend this summer. Personally, I've
always loved color blocking and I think it makes dressing more
fun! Even though color blocking is seen everywhere, not everyone may be comfortable trying this wild look. Not sure if you can pull off the color blocking trend or how to pull pieces together? Check out my rules to color blocking!
Victoria's Rules to Successful Color Blocking
1. Choose the right colors- Be sure to pick colors that compliment not only you but each other as well. I've found complementary colors work best. Meaning they are across from each other on the color wheel. Think Blue & Yellow or Magenta & Green. Use these colors wheels to help you choose compatible colors.
2. Solid & Simple- When color blocking it is important to not over do it. Use simple solid pieces to get the best look. If you feel like being wild with a print or pattern keep it simple and try adding a printed jacket or vest over your top. Like the model in this picture:
3. Keep to a maximum of 4- At most use 4 different colors. You can do 2 bolds and 2 neutrals or 3 neutrals and 1 bold. Try doing your top and bottom bold colors like a coral shirt and bright green/turquoise bottoms and keeping the accessories a neutral color like white, black, or nude. Here are some great examples of successful color blocking with 3 or 4 colors.
4. BE CONFIDENT- Confidence is what really pulls your outfit together. So rock your look with confidence and you will be sure to pull off this fun trend! If you aren't sold on color blocking with bold colors or complementary colors try using colors in the same family with different hues. For example try sea foam green jeans with a sky blue top.

HAPPY COLOR BLOCKING!
Now that you've learned my keys to color blocking we can move on to the next trend that has been spotted a lot in Hollywood lately. Colored hair. Whether it's the tips, entire head, or streaks using colors like pink or blue have been giving hair a wild and fun look! A few years back I tested out fuchsia steaks underneath my hair. I rocked it. I am super stoked about this trend. It let's you be creative and express yourself in a fun way. I was inspired by my friend Jenna who died the ends of her hair hot pink to put pink in my hair as well. Although, I have not done it yet I am seriously obsessed with this look!
Also, I'm diggin the turquoise/blue people are putting in their hair. Katy Perry went extreme and died her entire head, but I think I like it a little better when the color comes as a surprise. Like my friend Lauren did in the following picture.

If you still want to rock this sassy trend, but don't want to be too bold with it try streaks like Avril Lavigne or Selena Gomez!

Now I know some of you are scared to take the leap and die your hair, but there are ways to still work it without actually dying your hair. Try
these clip-in colored extensions that look like real human hair. It's a fast and easy way to test this tend without fully committing to dye. Each piece runs about $7.95 a piece. So have fun with it and get colorful!
*Note- brunettes be sure to bleach your hair before dying it the desired color to get the full effect and pop of color*
Well that's all for today but remember keep it sassy! ;)
